Funding Opportunities

1. Nutrition Link Services Society

Will be awarding grants up to a total of $14,000 this year to non-profit community groups and agencies whose work is in keeping with our mission: to inform, educate and counsel vulnerable British Columbians in making healthy food choices.  The application form can be found at Nutrition Link. Deadline is September 30, 2012.

2. BC Ideas: Solutions for Stronger Communities

A competition that seeks innovative solutions to health, social and environmental challenges facing BC communities today and in the future. Up to $100,000 will be awarded to top entries.  Deadline: September 12. For more information go to Change Makers.

3. Safe Kids Canada Resources

Safe Kids Canada is pleased to offer CAPC and CPNP coordinators access to the Kids That Click Child Passenger Safety DVD. This education tool explains the use of car seats, booster seats and seat belts to keep kids safe on every ride. The DVD is bilingual. Order by emailing Sandi Ricardez, Program Coordinator, Safe Kids Canada, directly, at sandi.ricardez@sickkids.ca. Orders due July 12th, max order is 25 per coordinator.

4. Maternal Child Health Comic Book

The Healthy Aboriginal Network (HAN) has released their latest comic book, It Takes a Village, which follows a young pregnant woman who is taught about healthy parenting behaviour, such as breastfeeding and refraining from drinking alcohol, by a fellow young mom.
