#1 Nobody’s Perfect Facilitator Training

Date: June 17th to 20th, 2013 in Coquitlam

Nobody's Perfect is a parenting education program where parents can safely share their experiences and concerns and receive the support of other parents - in addition to the support and resources brought by two skilled and knowledgeable facilitators.

Who is this training for?

The Nobody's Perfect facilitator training is specifically aimed at those with previous experience and/or education in facilitating groups and working with children, youth and families. You will be comfortable with the basic principles of adult education, currently employed with or volunteering at a multi-service or family support organization, and passionate about supporting families in all their diversity. #2 Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Program – Basic Online Course Now Available

The BCAA RSF/ICBC Child Passenger Safety Program (CPS) has developed an online CPS Basics course and it is now up and running. The online CPS Basics course would be a great refresher course for anyone that hasn’t been active with a child seat program for a while but would like to become more active again. It is also a very good course for anyone that doesn’t require CPS certification but would like a good basic knowledge of child car seat use.

The course covers the following:

  • What happens in a crash
  • Protecting children in vehicles
  • Using a seat belt system
  •  Using a child car seat
  • Unsafe practice and problem solving
  • Public education

#3 Online Certificate in Harm Reduction by York University

This online Certificate in Harm Reduction is designed to introduce service providers, administrators and policy makers to the principles, concepts and practices of  harm reduction; to provide an opportunity to critically examine examples of harm reduction work; and to become familiar with strategies for developing harm reduction programs and policies and mobilizing support for them in communities, agencies and institutions.
