2. Save the Date: BC Aboriginal Child Care Society Annual Conference
Date: October 17-19th 2013
Theme: Treading Softly: Honouring Children, The Land and Our Culture
Our connections to our Land and Language give us our sense of identity and view of the world. This year’s conference theme recognizes the importance of taking care of our environments and teaching children about the natural gifts from Mother Earth. Playing and learning in the outdoors develops the mind, body and spirit of the child and encourages positive social interaction. This year’s workshops will create opportunities for exploring the gifts in the world around us, strategies for helping children feel comfortable and safe in their environments, and the sharing of cultural activities that promote the well-being of Aboriginal children.
