Podcast: Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre
The first episode of the second season of the Kelty Centre Podcast aired on March 4, 2020, with a podcast on Self-Harm (also known as self-injury) with advice for families on what they need to know to support their child. In BC, studies show that 1 in 6 youth engages in self-harm, making this a challenge faced by many families around the province.
The 25 minute podcast includes interviews with a youth who has lived experience with self-harm and a clinical counsellor who has supported many youth who have self-harmed. The podcast is designed to give families a greater understanding of why youth self-harm and what parents can do to support their child.
