As COVID-19 continues to be a serious public health threat, we all need to continue to take simple steps to stay healthy, limit the spread of COVID-19 and make informed decisions about COVID-19 vaccination. In an effort to reach parents and youth in Canada, Health Canada is providing resources that can be distributed within your networks as a means to share credible information about COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccination.

On November 19, 2021, Health Canada authorized a Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty vaccine made for children aged 5 to 11. For information on COVID-19 vaccines for this age group, visit Canada.ca/covid-vaccine and provincial or territory websites for information based on where you live.

The Canada.ca/covid-vaccine site offers general information on vaccines, including vaccine safety, authorized vaccines, data on vaccines, and vaccines for children and youth. As well, it includes links to:

·      “Ask the experts” video series, where medical experts answer common questions about the COVID-19 vaccines

·      Awareness resources, including printable information and videos, with some resources available in multiple languages

·      Social media messages and images and shareable resources you can share to promote vaccination

·      Resources to host an engagement session on vaccine confidence and public health measures in your community

The COVID-19 Awareness Tool Kit is also available online and provides links to more information resources about COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccines. There are COVID-19 resource products in languages beyond English and French. These multilingual resources are available on the COVID-19 Awareness resource pages.

Health Canada expresses the hope that these resources can be disseminated widely to increase knowledge and understanding of the importance of vaccination.
